Remo Panaccione, MD, FRCPC

Remo Panaccione, MD, FRCPC is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Calgary and the Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Panaccione graduated from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario with a degree in medicine and completed his internal medicine and gastroenterology training at the University of Western Ontario. He completed advanced training in inflammatory bowel disease at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Panaccione is the author of many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on inflammatory bowel disease and has a special interest in advanced immunomodulation and biologic therapy. He served as a co-author of the guidelines on the use of infliximab for the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology and is the Medical Director for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Calgary Chapter and sits on the Medical Advisory Council for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. Dr. Panaccione was recently recognized as one of the University of Calgary’s top teachers.
